Apartment Description
This apartment is a self contained unit within a larger chalet, next door to the Aravis Lodge. It has one bedroom containing either a double or twin beds along with a set of bunk beds. This makes it ideal for a family with two kids, or a couple just wanting a bit of extra space.
The living room is well-decorated with everything you need on a self catered holiday; table, chairs, sofa, open log fire, TV, DVD/CD player and free WIFI. There are full sized patio windows allowing access to the large, private terrace.
The kitchen is fully equipped kitchen boasting a very large oven, 5-ring gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and a full range of utensils, pans, crockery and glassware.
There is one bathroom for the apartment containing large bath with shower, toilet and washbasin.
Set on the grounds of the Aravis Lodge, you can benefit from private parking and access to some the Lodge facilities such as the bar, on-site ski hire and of course the help and assistance of the Ski Weekender team.

Chalet Aravis is located in centre of the village of St Jean de Sixt, just 5 minutes from the base of the ski lifts or the village centres of Le Grand Bornand and La Clusaz.
The village itself offers a well stocked small supermarket, a chemist, newsagent, 2 bakeries, a greengrocer and several bars and restaurants; all just across the road from the apartment. In addition there is a free ski bus linking the resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand.
For those who self drive it is only half an hour to the medieval village of Annecy as well as other local attractions such as the sumptuous weekly produce markets. Otherwise, airport transfers can be arranged at an extra cost.

Chalet Description
The heart of the cosy interior is the lounge, or more specifically the large wood burning stove which creates a really warm chalet – both in terms of heat and atmosphere! The comfy sofas and colourful rugs all create a real home from home. A good place to chill out at the end of the day is the TV room – set back off the corridor you can ensure privacy and a large sofa to chill out on whilst choosing your favourite TV programme on Sky or a good DVD.
There are 6 bedrooms which are all light and airy with, mostly, ensuite bathrooms, decorated in a fresh, clean and cheerful manner. Bedrooms can be arranged as either twin rooms or doubles and it is possible to add cots or z-beds to any of the bedrooms. Most of them also have amazing views over the village or the Aravis chain of mountains; a couple also has a balcony.
The kitchen is extremely well equipped, in fact it is a semi-professional kitchen. It contains anything you might need for a self-catered holiday including a 4-ring gas cookers, two full ovens, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and a vast range of utensils, cooking equipment and crockery.
Outside is a sunny terrace to enjoy a well earned drink on a nice day. There is plenty of storage for coats, boots and skis in the entrance hall with a boot warmer for your wet ski boots.

Recently refurbished, the Penthouse apartment is fresh and modern with exposed light wood beams and skylights in the principle rooms. The living area has a floorspace of about 30 square metres and has 2 sofas and an easy chair positioned around the log fire. French windows give access to the south-facing balcony. There is a large TV with UK satellite, DVD and CD player and free WIFI access.
The penthouse has three bedrooms. Bedroom 1 can be configured as either a twin or double room and has an ensuite shower room and wc. Apartment Description
The most notable thing about the Aravis Apartments has to be their size, being significantly larger than standard French rental properties. Each apartment has three bedrooms, fitted with twin or double beds. There is also an extra ‘pull-out’ or sofa bed in the lounge if needed as well as a mezzanine with another bed. The lounge area, with TV, internet connection and under floor heating, is comfortable and spacious with access to the sunny terrace.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook and cater for yourself – complete with microwave, fridge freezer, full oven and hob, dishwasher and a full complement of dishes, cutlery and utensils. Traditional tables and chairs are included and all apartments contain a washing machine, modern shower rooms with basin (some have baths too) and separate WC.
Private garages are available within the apartment block for an extra fee if required or alternatively there is a free public car park across the street. Stairs and an elevator give access to the apartments.
The apartments are ideal for those self-driving or hiring a car from the airport, but we can offer airport transfers from Geneva if desired. With the location of the apartments being so central, you can easily enjoy a weeks skiing with no need for a car.
Please note that the apartment is available from 2pm onwards on Saturday afternoon, and must be vacated by 10am on the following Saturday.

The ski slopes of Le Grand Bornand are easily accessible with the main telecabines situated just 100m from the apartments. The local village is just a 5 minute walk away and offers a large variety of restaurants, bars, shops and attractions.
A full range of food and supplies are available within walking distance from two mini-supermarkets; there is also a local market every Wednesday morning if you want to stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables or local produce.
The ski bus stop is very close also opening up the neighbouring resort of La Clusaz. This convenient 5 minute bus journey is included in your lift pass if you choose the full area Aravis pass.

Built in a traditional wooden chalet style, finished in 2006, these apartments are the height of style and convenience. With large south-facing sun terraces looking onto the impressive Aravis chain of mountains, these apartments are light and airy, all with mod-cons. Situated just metres away from the lifts, these apartments are ideally located for the pistes as well as being just a 5 minute walk away from Le Grand Bornand village centre. Apartment Description
The Aravis Apartments are incredibly large in comparison to most French rental properties. Each apartment has two bedrooms, fitted with twin or double beds. There is also an extra ‘pull-out’ or sofa bed in the lounge should you require it. The lounge area has under-floor heating, a TV and internet access and is comfortable and spacious with big patio doors leading out to the sunny balcony.
The kitchen is well equipped with 4-ring gas cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and plenty of crockery, pans, cutlery and glassware. Farmhouse style tables and chairs are included and all apartments boast modern shower rooms with basin (some have baths too), washing machine and separate toilet.
Access to the apartments is by stairs or elevator. There are designated garages available within the block for an extra fee or otherwise there is a free public carpark just metres from the apartments.
The apartments are perfect for those looking to self-drive or hire a car, but its central location also means you can fly to Geneva, we will arrange airport transfers and you can enjoy a week’s skiing holiday without needing your car.
Please note that the apartment is available from 2pm onwards on Saturday afternoon, and must be vacated by 10am on the following Saturday.
Apartment Location
The apartments are located just 100m from the two main telecabines which access the Grand Bornand ski area. The village of Le Grand Bornand is only a 5 minute walk away and boasts a large selection of shops, restaurants, bars and attractions.
There are two mini-supermarkets within walking distance that stock a full range of food. You can also take advantage of Grand Bornand’s village market on a Wednesday morning which offers a large variety of fruit, vegetables and local produce.
You are very close to the ski bus stop allowing you to take a convenient 5 minute journey to the neighbouring ski resort of La Clusaz. If you choose a full Aravis region lift pass, this bus will be free for use.

Chalet Description
This apartment is modern and well decorated, set over two floors, in a block of eight privately owned apartments. The bottom floor consists of an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a dining table that can comfortably seat 6-8 people. The kitchen provides a full range of facilities including dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, oven and grill and electric hob. There is crockery, cutlery and glassware to cater for 8 people.
There is a sofa, which turns into a double bed if required, set by an open log fireplace and French windows leading out to the balcony. The balcony is south-facing and boasts stunning views over the mountains and local ski pistes. There is a double bedroom on the bottom floor alongside a bathroom, with full size bath, and separate toilet.
The upper floor contains the large master bedroom, with an extra single bed if required. The mezzanine area has two single beds and a shower room with toilet. There is a private washing machine and dryer in the basement of the building.
Chalet Location
The apartment is located at 1300m altitude, above the town of La Clusaz (7 minute drive). It is just a 2 minute drive from the ski lifts of La Balme, part of the La Clusaz ski resort. Very close to the village of Confins, where there are many good restaurants and great cross country skiing opportunities.
There is a free regular ski bus which stops just outside the apartment, linking all the ski areas and towns, including La Clusaz which offers a wide variety of bars, restaurants, shops and amenities.
This apartment is ideal for those looking to self drive or hire a car at the airport (there is plenty of private parking). Alternatively, we can arrange airport transfers for you to the chalet.

Chalet Description
Chalet Caroline is a classic ski chalet, nestled in its own private garden, just off the road which connects the two main telecabines that take you directly to the heart of the Grand Massif.
It has been owned and run by Caroline for the last 8 years, during which time she has built up a great reputation for outstanding food, welcoming service and attention to detail. For those of you who have stayed at the Aravis Lodge, you will find there are many similarities, only on a smaller scale.
The chalet sleeps 12 guests in 6 comfortable, clean and well sized ensuite bedrooms. The beds can be made into twins or doubles, and are covered with fluffy duvets and pillows. The bathrooms are modern and well equipped.
On the first floor you will find the lounge and dining room, surrounded by a spacious balcony and big picture windows. The lounge is filled with comfy sofas set around the fireplace, and there is a large music collection for you to use. At the other end of the room is the dining table -comfortably seating 12 people – long sociable meals are the norm here! There is a separate TV room with leather sofas, books, Sky Tv and a DVD player.
On the ground floor you will find a modern Sauna available for use, and a small gym with weights and cardio machines.
Chalet Catering
Caroline is a professional chef renowned for her great food and service.
All food is handmade from fresh ingredients, including the afternoon cakes!
Allergies and dietary requirements are all happily catered for too, including vegetarian, vegan and coeliac diets. This has been recognised on the website VeggieSnow.

Typical Daily Menu
- Breakfast – porridge, cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit, hot cooked option typically eggs. Fresh bread, jams, honey, marmalade and chocolate spread.
- Afternoon tea – homemade cake, fresh bread and spreads.
- Dinner – a delicious 3 course evening meal with local red and white wine.
- Starter – apple and cider salad masked with warm melted Camembert dressing.
- Main – roast loin of pork filled with an apricot stuffing, coated in a light, creamy peach sauce. Pommes duchesses seasoned with nutmeg. French beans, cooked al dente, with garlic and mushrooms. Cauliflower, simply sprinkled with sesame seeds.
- Dessert – fallen chocolate soufflé with Armagnac prunes and crème fraîche sauce. Freshly brewed coffee.
Chalet Location
The chalet is located in the hamlet of Petit Saix, 1 minutes drive from the ski lifts, and 5 minutes to the centre of Samoens.
There are regular, free ski buses that stop outside the chalet. We also provide minibus shuttles to and from the slopes and into town in the evenings.

Chalet Description
Aravis Lodge. This is where Ski Weekender began! The Lodge combines the best of a catered chalet with the benefits of hotel facilities. That means a spacious lounge with big sofas and lots of books and games and a separate TV room with full Sky tv and a dvd player. The dining room plays host to some memorable meals, with 40 people around large banquet tables sharing stories and making new friends.
The rooms are fully ensuite (many bathrooms are new for 2011). There are twin, double and family rooms, all equipped with fluffy duvets, towels and complimentary toiletries.
The bar is fully stocked with wines, spirits and beer (Kronenborg) and ale (Guiness) on tap. Most people congregate here between tea and dinner for an aperitif and snacks, and it will see most of the action after dinner. There is a separate section with a table football table, mini table-tennis and giant jenga.
Downstairs you will find the ski/board/boot room with heated bootwarmers and all the latest hire equipment onsite for your convenience. There is plenty of space to dry wet clothes and gloves. There is a fully equipped gym and fitness room with CV and weights machines – incase you haven’t had enough exercise already. The modern sauna and well-being room seems to be much more popular however!
Chalet Aravis. The Chalet is an annexe of the main lodge, shares all the facilities with it and is available on exactly the same basis as the lodge. The 4 double or twin rooms here offer spacious and very comfortable accommodation, but share one bathroom between 2 rooms. We provide bathrobes to all guests. As the rooms are not ensuite, the chalet is where you benefit from our best value prices. You will see some photos in the gallery above.
Chalet Catering
We are told time and again by skiers that the food and wine we serve here really stand out compared to many ski chalets. We believe food is an essential part of a good holiday, particularly a ski holiday, which is why we ensure all our meals are wholesome, filling and delicious.
Our professionally trained chef team, Jane and Eric, cook all our meals with care and attention using local suppliers and healthy ingredients. Our homemade cakes always seem to disappear in a flash at tea time too!
People with food intolerances, allergies or special preferences are well catered for in the chalet. We are particularly used to cooking a tasty veggie menu for vegetarians and consequently have been accredited by the Vegetarian Society for 5 years.
In addition to veggies and vegans, we are also able to cater for coeliacs and guests with other dietary intolerances by including delicious wheat free cakes and deserts in our menus as well as tasty main courses.

- Main: pork loin slow roasted on apples with calvados and cider accompanied by tartiflette and seasonal vegetables or goats cheese bread and butter pudding (veggie option).
- Dessert: peach and raspberry brandy crumble.
Chalet Location
The lodge is located in the heart of the small village of St Jean de Sixt, ideally located between the two ski resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, only 5 minutes from each.
In addition to our free minibus resort transfers at the start and end of every day, the ski bus stops right by the chalet, allowing you to access all of the ski areas and come and go as you please.
The ski resort is close to Geneva – under 1 hour, making it the most convenient base for a short ski break.
